For the past four years, since 2023, a tremendous amount of passion, research, and personal resources have been poured into a singular vision: bridging the digital gap for the backbone of our economy—our nano and micro businesses. A vision that can transform how millions of small businesses across Nigeria connect with customers.

That vision is MyCityTown.ng—a community-driven digital platform designed to give nano and micro businesses a strong online presence, enabling them to attract nearby customers in their own cities, towns, and local government areas.

My name is Dr. Wale Adeleke, and I am the founder of mycitytown.ng..

Across Nigeria, millions of brilliant local shops, artisans, and service providers form the heartbeat of our communities. Yet, the vast majority remain invisible online, struggling to reach customers who are literally just streets away. They lack the digital storefronts, marketing budgets, and technical tools needed to thrive in a modern economy.

MyCityTown is built to change that. Our mission is to scale this digital infrastructure across 1,000 cities, towns, local government areas (LGAs), and states across Nigeria**, giving every local business a powerful digital presence to attract nearby customers in their immediate locality.

•          Showcase products and services with photos, prices, phone numbers, WhatsApp contacts, and locations.

To bring this massive vision to life and achieve nationwide impact—starting with an intensive rollout across approximately 100 towns in Lagos State—we are launching this fundraising campaign.

Why We Need Your Support

Building a nationwide digital ecosystem requires robust infrastructure, physical presence, and dedicated boots on the ground.

Your donations will help us accelerate the development and successful launch of MyCityTown.ng and ensure it becomes a sustainable platform that benefits millions of Nigerians.

Every naira contributed will be strategically deployed into the following core areas:

1.    Platform Development & Technology: Engineering a scalable, user-friendly web platform, migrating to high-performance dedicated servers, and implementing top-tier security and maintenance protocols.

2.    Field Recruitment & Onboarding: Recruiting, training, and deploying local teams to manually map, verify, and add local businesses city-by-city and town-by-town.

3.    Logistics & Field Operations: Purchasing a dedicated operational vehicle capable of transporting a 6-person team to safely execute our initial rollout across 100 towns in Lagos State.

4.    Office Infrastructure: Securing functional office accommodation, essential office furniture, and equipping our core team with 3 to 5 high-performance laptops with initial 5-10 staff members and volunteers.

5.    Field Operations: Acquire a six-seater vehicle for field operations, beginning with approximately 100 towns and communities in Lagos state expanding nationwide

6.    Awareness & Publicity: Designing, printing, and distributing physical marketing collateral (flyers, posters, banners) alongside digital campaigns to drive merchant sign-ups and consumer adoption.

7.    Develop mobile applications and digitals to make the platform more accessible

8.    Cover legal, accounting, regulatory and administrative costs.

9.    Implement monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and project management system.
